At ETB we believe in having fun while we live healthy lifestyles. With this concept we created our “I can do 26.2” youth program. The program promotes being active and establishing healthy habits to be a part of our children’s lifestyle. Through “I can do 26.2”, we do just that with our children; “have fun” and form the foundation for healthy lives.
This 8 week program runs bi-annually and is designed for children ages 4 – 14. The program meets twice a week and each week the participants work on completing 5k (+) (walking, running or jogging). Our goal is to take them from walking to running at their own optimum pace. By the end of an 8 week period the children will accumulate a total of 26.2 miles, proving they can do 26.2, the distance of a marathon.
The program ends with a BIG finish fun run event where the children will complete their final miles toward their 26.2. This event is a major milestone for the participants. ETB celebrates their accomplishment with their families and community by hosting an individual and group awards ceremony.
